M3-Series: Selectable Joystick Control

Bobcat Selectable Joystick Control, or SJC, is the most popular control system choice on compact loaders. Available on select Bobcat models, no other joystick in the industry comes close to delivering this level of customization and control. SJC allows you to control your loader and attachments with precision, ease and comfort. They're also loaded with many Bobcat-exclusive features.

Features & Benefits

Selectable Joystick Control System On Bobcat Loader

Ultimate Hand Control

Control is everything when you work long days on tough jobs. That's why the Selectable Joystick Control (SJC) features fingertip switches and selectable control pattern. Fingertip controls enable you to easily control numerous machine functions without letting go of the joysticks. Operate a planer, trencher or tree spade with ease, or control the angle functions on the soil conditioner, angle broom or grader. Selectable control pattern gives you further flexibility to choose between ISO or H-Pattern, satisfying different operators with the flip of a switch.

Increased Comfort

Get improved functionality without sacrificing ease of use. Controls are exactly where you expect them to be – at your fingertips. Plus, joysticks can be adjusted separately from the operator seat, making operation comfortable for anyone. Since the feet are free of controls with SJC, a standard foot throttle conveniently increases engine speed when needed. Because there's only one foot throttle, operators enjoy increased legroom inside the cab. An auto-idle function on machines equipped with Selectable Joystick Controls also reduces noise levels.

Speed Management

Simply “dial in” your required travel speed in small increments to match speed to your operation requirements and maximize attachment performance. Speed management provides a full range of joystick motion at a slower speed, giving you precise control of machine movements while maintaining maximum driveline torque and full hydraulic power.

Horsepower Management

Horsepower management automatically adjusts the loader drive system to maximize pushing and digging power while minimizing your chance of stalling. Unlike with other anti-stall systems, you can obtain maximum engine and drive torque to match the toughest digging conditions. If you prefer to work without it, simply disengage with the push of a button.

Steering Drift Compensation

Steering drift compensation keeps your loader on a straight path as you side-shift certain attachments, such as a planer or trencher, that tend to pull the machine to one side. It's also beneficial when you operate on surfaces that cause the loader to gradually drift to the left or right, such as gradual slopes or crowned roads. Make fine steering adjustments to either side with the push of a button and stay on target.

Drive Response Mode

Drive response mode allows you to choose how the drive responds to joystick movement. Whether you like a more gradual response; quick, instant feedback; or something in between, three different settings put you in control.

Bobcat S590 On Construction Site Digging Into Dirt

Take advantage of speed management and steering drift compensation when using attachments that require consistent, slow travel speeds during operation, such as a trencher or planer. Horsepower management automatically adjusts your engine rpm to minimize stalling when digging into large piles of material.

Grounds Maintenance

Use speed management to operate attachments that require a consistent speed, like snowblowers, mowers or sweepers. Fingertip controls give you easy access to functions on the angle broom, snow blade, tree spade and tiller.

For landscapers, horsepower management automatically adjusts your engine rpm to avoid stalling when digging into dirt, rocks and other heavy material. Using the Selectable Joystick Control, operators can make precise movements and have the attachment control needed for finish work around the jobsite.
