Battery-Electric Compact Excavator

The Bobcat electric excavator lineup delivers all the benefits of owning and operating an electric-powered compact excavator without sacrificing performance. We’ve turned the concept of reliable battery power into a proven game changer in the compact equipment industry. 
Featuring state-of-the-art, lithium-ion battery technology, the E10e, E19e and E32e perform as well – or better – than their diesel-powered equivalents, providing the same power, and near-instantaneous torque. The battery systems deliver high-energy density, long service life and require no routine maintenance. The result is strong breakout forces, smooth operator control functions and loads of workgroup power. The batteries provide about four hours of continuous runtime, or between six and eight hours of runtime using breaks to recharge.

With battery power, the E10e, E19e and E32e take hydraulic performance to a new level. The excavators’ electric motor delivers full torque at all rpm ranges, resulting in smooth hydraulic control. Under load, power supplied to the hydraulics remains more consistent, which results in precise control of all workgroup functions. These battery-electric excavators deliver power equivalent to their diesel counterparts, but with immediate and consistent torque that can only be generated with electric power.

The Battery Management System protects the lithium-ion batteries, extends battery life and optimizes power usage for highly efficient operations. This system monitors the batteries and will de-rate or shut down the excavator to prevent damage to the batteries. 

The E10e is powered by two lithium-ion batteries that provide a total capacity of 11.5 kWh. The battery system supplies power to an electric motor which drives hydraulic pumps. The pumps pressurize hydraulic fluid for operation of the excavator’s workgroup functions, attachments and tracks. The lithium-ion batteries also power an independent 12-volt battery system which runs the work lights and certain controls. 

• An on-board charger, capable of receiving common electrical connections of 120 volts, supports overnight charging of about 12 hours. 
• An off-board, 240-volt, fast-charge system is also available for full battery recharge in just 1.5 to 2 hours. 

The electric power needed to recharge the battery system costs a fraction of diesel, and these highly efficient excavators are built with fewer parts and fluids, which significantly reduces maintenance and repair costs, as well as work time lost to maintenance and repairs. The lithium-ion batteries require no routine maintenance and include built-in protection against overcharging.  
Operators will pay a fraction of the cost to power these machines for one hour compared to their diesel-powered counterparts.  The hourly “fuel” savings multiplied over a year - or even a week – will make a huge difference to your bottom line.

The standard motion alarm (audio signal) activates when the excavator is traveling. The E10e, E19e and E32e also feature a standard beacon light on the top of the canopy. The beacon emits a bright orange strobe light whenever the excavator is turned on. The E10e and E32e are also equipped with a horn for added operational awareness.

Easily change between “excavator” and “backhoe” patterns with an electronic control pattern switch. The switch is conveniently located on the console so operators can change between ISO and standard controls without leaving the seat.

Maneuver faster with standard two-speed travel. The quicker you can move on the job site, the faster you can complete your work. For work on large job sites, two-speed travel increases your productivity all day long. Select low range for pushing and dozing and high range for increased job site mobility. 

The integrated rear counterweight lowers the center of gravity, further enhancing the stability of the undercarriage design. Operators can dig and slew with more confidence, improving digging performance. 

The zero-tail swing E10e offers the greatest flexibility. The rear of the house stays within the width of the tracks through full rotation. Slew and deposit soil where you need it, reposition the machine fewer times, and worry less about inadvertently contacting any surrounding objects.

Your work doesn’t stop until the job is done. Early in the morning or late at night, illuminate poorly lit jobsites with a bright and reliable halogen work light. 

Hydraulically retract the undercarriage to just 28-inches wide for access to small job sites- both indoors and out. Then return the undercarriage to its 43-inch stance for a wider footprint and leading performance. The dozer blade also can be retracted at each side for greater access to jobsites.

The short pitch, interlocking rubber tracks provide optimal engagement with the rollers, reducing vibration during travel and delivering a more comfortable ride.

The hydraulic joystick controls deliver smooth, fluid operation and increased efficiency. The joystick control console can be narrowed to match the tracks’ width or extended out to improve operator comfort.

The E10e and E19e feature two-way auxiliary hydraulic flow to power attachments that require bi-directional hydraulic flow.

The auxiliary hydraulic couplers, located on the excavator boom, are in easy reach for quick connections. The quick couplers feature a low-profile design, set close to the boom’s surface to protect against damage. 

The foot pedal boom swing controls can be folded away for more floor space and convenient cleaning.

Bobcat® compact excavators are engineered to protect against damage. All Bobcat® compact excavators are equipped with protected hydraulic lines and well-designed workgroups. The boom’s hydraulic cylinder is mounted on the top to prevent contact with the trench, bucket or nearby obstacles. 

Convenient tie-down locations allow you to confidently secure your machine to trailers. Get on and off the job site faster. Secure your load quickly, without searching for hard-to-reach tie-downs.

The control lockout levers stop the motor and disengage the hydraulic control functions from the controls when either console is raised. Lower the control consoles to start the motor and engage the hydraulic control functions of the controls.

Keep the battery compartment securely latched and locked to prevent tampering or vandalism after hours.

The E10e operator station is designed to deliver the comfort and intuitive control functionality that operators need for all-day productivity. The operator-centric design includes excellent visibility, intuitive, ergonomic controls in an easy-to-use intuitive layout, an adjustable seat and a retractable seat belt. The tip over protective structure (TOPS) meets ISO standards and can be temporarily folded down for clearance through doorways and other low openings.
