HOW TO CHOOSE FORK ATTACHMENTS
Bobcat fork attachments turn your machine into a fast, precise material handler. Start with what you’re moving most, then match fork style to the load, site and carrier.
What's Your Material?
Strength that matches the demands of your work:
- Palletized or bagged loads: Pallets, totes, bagged fertilizer, seed, sod and bulk materials.
- Stackable goods and bales: Lumber, shingles, siding, block and wrapped feed.
- Loose, messy material: Straw, manure, bedding, hay, brush and hard‑to‑grab piles.
This quickly points you toward a pallet fork or a utility fork.
When to Choose Pallet Forks
Choose a pallet fork attachment when you’re lifting, carrying and placing heavy, compact loads.
Pallet forks are built for:
- Move bulky, bagged or palletized material quickly and easily – including pallets, bulk bags and bundled building materials.
- Unloading and loading trucks and trailers.
- Handling bales and supplies around the farm, jobsite or yard.
Bobcat pallet forks are engineered to meet ISO strength standards, with adjustable tines, strong frames and clear visibility to the tips for accurate placement at ground and truck‑bed height. Severe‑duty and hydraulic‑adjust models give you extra muscle and in‑cab fork spacing control for high‑volume work.
When to Choose Utility Forks
Pick a utility fork attachment when you’re working with loose, hard‑to-handle material. Utility forks shine on:
- Manure, bedding and loose hay.
- Stringy, loose or awkward debris such as brush, stalks and scrap.
- General farm and ranch chores.
Tapered, replaceable teeth bite into loose piles for confident pickup, and optional additional teeth help fine-tune tine spacing for the load. Pair the utility fork with a Bobcat utility grapple to add clamping force for posts, fencing and irregular material that needs a firm grip in transport.
Quick Checklist
- Primary job: Palletized/bagged loads and bales, or loose/organic material and cleanup.
- Material shape: Square and stackable vs. loose, stringy or hard-to-carry cleanly.
- Carrier: Loader, compact tractor, small articulated loader, mini track loader, compact wheel loader or Toolcat™ utility work machine.
- Control needed: Precise placement on racking and trucks (pallet fork) vs. aggressive digging and gripping (utility fork + grapple).
Dial that in, and it’s easy to pick the fork setup that keeps your machine lifting, carrying and loading all day without slowing down.
