Ringers Landscaping, led by Erik Ringstrand and Russ Scott, is a thriving landscaping business based in Illinois. The story begins when Erik, at just 8 years old, started mowing lawns with his father and brother. By the time he was 16, Erik was managing a small lawn care operation on weekends, balancing work with academics and sports.   

“I didn’t think big picture at first,” Erik recalled, but his passion for hands-on work led him to leave college and turn his weekend gig into a full-time business.  

The Turning Point: Meeting Russ Scott  

For nearly a decade, Erik worked tirelessly to grow the business. However, despite increasing revenue, profitability was elusive. That’s when Russ Scott entered the picture, calling Ringers Landscaping a “diamond in the rough.”   

Russ’ operational expertise transformed the business, doubling revenue from $3 million to $7.5 million in just three years. Together, Erik and Russ established a streamlined operation that combined skilled crews with cutting-edge tools, especially Bobcat® equipment.

Bobcat equipment has been at the heart of Ringers Landscaping’s success. The company started with one MT85 mini track loader, which quickly became a cornerstone of their operations.   

Today, they have eight MT85s, an MT100 mini track loader and an E35 compact excavator.
