PG40 Overview

The PG40 portable generator from Bobcat delivers reliable power suitable for a variety of applications, from construction sites and remote disaster relief to live concerts and outdoor events. It’s powered by a fuel-efficient, state-of-the-art engine that features a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) aftertreatment system, which is virtually maintenance-free.

The PG40 provides unmatched starting power with optional low-load management solutions designed to maximize the machine’s lifespan while also maximizing your jobsite productivity. The Intelligent Load Management System adds mechanical advantage to the engine without impacting your fuel economy, allowing the engine to burn hot enough to prevent the sludge buildup common with older machines.

Like all Bobcat portable generators, the PG40 was engineered to be easily serviceable by on-site operators. Designed with an emphasis on accessibility, routine maintenance is quick and easy to perform without having to take the machine apart. The CoolBox enclosure is acoustically treated to minimize sound levels while ensuring proper cooling airflow so you can operate at maximum load in high ambient temperatures.

With 24 hours of runtime at 100% load, the PG40 keeps the power flowing to keep you up and running. A dual-frequency switch comes standard, allowing the generator to change from 50 Hz to 60 Hz, making it one of the most versatile portable generators available. It’s also built tough with a galvanized steel enclosure, heavy-duty running gear, torsion-style axles with your choice of electric or hydraulic surge brakes, bolt-on fenders, and adjustable height hitches to ensure safe and easy towing.
